I’m have to admit that I have became a Marvel fan in the last three years and one of my favorites is Doctor Strange. One line that stood out to me from the movie was when The Ancient One, (played by Tilda Swinton), said these words: “Death is what gives life meaning. To know your days are numbered. Your time is short.” From that line, I gain the impression that life is not meant to be wasted. It is not meant to be lived in a careless manner.
It is careless to waste days overthinking about things that didn’t happen, people who never said the words you are replaying over in your mind, and especially situations that have past in time. Careless living is living a life rooted in death. Anytime you participate in anything that will brings death to your life (wrong relationships/friendships, addictions, toxic thinking, etc.), you are communicating that your life is nothing more than a speck. Lies! Life is significant. It is full of lessons meant to make sense out of our ups and downs, which gives meaning to starting over and experiencing new things.
So my advice today is to be wise with your time, because life is too short to think low and become swallowed up in the world’s tragedies. Come out of the “perfection syndrome” thinking that life has to go only one way or all will fail because God never promised that each day will be filled with “cotton candy and rainbows”, but He is able to help you walk through it and LIVE. Please put away the “dark cloud” over your mind and open your eyes up to what life can offer. My mind has been more of an hinderance to me than anything else in my life. (And I have to truthfully admit that…) My thoughts have prevented me from living life on some days, and I have to learn to take better control of it. My life is worth living in the present than wasting days living in the past.
Enjoy the night peeps!
