Inspiring and encouraging others to break free from what’s holding them back from a great and fulfilling life

Tale of the Victim & Victor

I believe there are two types of people: one that settles and one that overcomes. There is not much room to be in between, because either you are going forward or going backwards. I would like to believe that you can be at a “standstill” in life, but that’s not possible. We are in a moving world, so nothing really stops but its constantly moving in some direction. If you are like me, you may have found yourself moving in a direction that’s was not beneficial to your life at one point. Society wants us to believe that “change” is not optional in some cases. We are pushed to conform to this mindset of “blame and guilt” if you are a certain race, gender, or even economic class, because we are made to believe that our circumstances have control over our lives.

But is it possible that society is wrong? Or better yet, is it possible that you have been lying to yourself this whole time about what you are actually capable of doing with your life? Hey, we all have experienced some type of hurt, failure, or setback in this life, (if not…KEEP LIVING), but those “events” do not have to have the last say. There are two options that we have…either live like a victim or become a victor….. because both paths will lead you to a final destination, but be sure that’s the ending you DESIRE…

I spent nights crying. I wasted days procrastinating. I pondered long hours over past events that I can’t go back to. I spilled out “details of what they did” to a few, but no resolution. Being a victim has no light at the end of the tunnel, but an endless path to nowhere. So now, I chose to walk the path of the Victor not a depressed individual. That means dealing with things not holding them.

I release. I surrender.

As always, my amazing peeps, feel free to leave your thoughts and share what’s on your heart in the comments below. Until next week, enjoy your weekend!

About Me

Hi..My name is ShuCora Walker. No, I am not the woman in the picture, but my words represent people like her. People who love good conversations. People who enjoy sharing their life stories. People who tell the truth to not only inspire but to heal, learn, and grow. I have been writing since my preteen years and found peace in letting my heart bleed out on the paper through my words. The focus of my writing has always been to share stories of triumph, struggles, and faith because God is the reason why I write. I remember at one point that I wanted to take my life, but God deemed it not to be because He still had a purpose for my life. Now, I am using my words to share my life journey so others can learn from it. Yes, one day I plan to open up this platform to other writers so we can continue to learn from different experiences of life. So, this is a space for anyone seeking to live a life of real freedom and enjoy some good moments along the way…
