Inspiring and encouraging others to break free from what’s holding them back from a great and fulfilling life

Open Your Mouth And Speak

This year, I do not want to leave a conversation FULL.

After reading that statement, you may be confused by what I mean, but I am referring to being truthful. I found that the root of my resentment was that I did not communicate my expectations, my needs, and the things I needed to say in the moment to dispel any misunderstandings. I am not saying that everyone is going to understand everything I say or do, but I did not want to walk away from a situation or conversation without closure. I define “closure” as making peace. Making peace can be forgiveness, separation from the toxicity, resolution, or turning away from it completely. My goal this year was to “empty out” the words, feelings, and whatever is attached to that conversation or situation so I will not resent the person or action because I learned to communicate what I needed to communicate. We all must learn to speak up. What are we hiding? What are we protecting? Is there an issue with truly “living in authenticity”? Our voice can transform from a “barrier to our lives” to “the key for freedom in our lives”. It takes nothing to be open, but it takes everything to be silent. To open is to surrender your pride in order to be vulnerable so you be healed. To be silent is to carry the weight of the trauma and become weighted down by “unhealed wounds”. To be open is to bypass the shame so you can release your testimony of freedom in order to help other people bypass their shame and be free. To be silent is to also allow shame to close your mouth and hide the “words” people need to hear so they can move forward in life. Open your mouth and speak.

This summer, I will be “extracting some valuable nuggets” from my poetry book: Testimonies Of A Young Woman- Pieces Of My Journey…If you are interested in the book, click on the following links:

About Me

Hi..My name is ShuCora Walker. No, I am not the woman in the picture, but my words represent people like her. People who love good conversations. People who enjoy sharing their life stories. People who tell the truth to not only inspire but to heal, learn, and grow. I have been writing since my preteen years and found peace in letting my heart bleed out on the paper through my words. The focus of my writing has always been to share stories of triumph, struggles, and faith because God is the reason why I write. I remember at one point that I wanted to take my life, but God deemed it not to be because He still had a purpose for my life. Now, I am using my words to share my life journey so others can learn from it. Yes, one day I plan to open up this platform to other writers so we can continue to learn from different experiences of life. So, this is a space for anyone seeking to live a life of real freedom and enjoy some good moments along the way…
