Fear/Break Loose/

Inspiring and encouraging others to break free from what’s holding them back from a great and fulfilling life

Ending Chapter (Poem)

Today I draw the line
Between my past and my future
Burning the cords connected to what’s behind me
Cutting off every memory that haunted me
For years I placed my freedom in the hands of my past
But I am tired of consoling the “old me”
Finally I am taking back the key to unlock the future before me
Today I decided to live free

As my heart wrenches and tears stream down my eyes
I am saying goodbye as I close this chapter in my life
I realize that what is best for me is to leave every part of me

Leaving behind lies and false assumptions
Leaving behind thoughts of bitterness and unforgiveness
Leaving behind the shell of timidity and shedding off fear
Leaving behind forbidden relationships and all it’s memories
Leaving behind who I thought I was going to be
Leaving behind my old ways of doing things
Leaving behind my words of sadness and pity
Leaving behind every offense and pain that held me in slavery

As I locked this door and hand over my keys
Lord, I vow to You to never look back
Today, I take a step forward

Moving forward to my true identity
Moving forward to meditation of powerful thoughts
Moving forward to dwell in places of boldness
Moving forward to release love to enemies and friends
Moving forward to embrace my greatness
Moving forward to adapt to the culture of wisdom
Moving forward to speaking words of life
Moving forward to healing from past wounds

Overwhelmed with feelings of liberation
Covered in joyful bliss as I move on from yesterday
No matter what happens on this journey,
I’ll keep walking forward

This morning, I prayed to God to help me let go of past seasons. Sometimes we can get too wrapped up with the “old” and bypass the “new” in our lives. Moving forward is not “keeping the past”, but “making room for the future”. Let go of the “old You”. One of my favorite scriptures that I want to share is II Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! (NIV)Happy Friday, my peeps!

About Me

Hi..My name is ShuCora Walker. No, I am not the woman in the picture, but my words represent people like her. People who love good conversations. People who enjoy sharing their life stories. People who tell the truth to not only inspire but to heal, learn, and grow. I have been writing since my preteen years and found peace in letting my heart bleed out on the paper through my words. The focus of my writing has always been to share stories of triumph, struggles, and faith because God is the reason why I write. I remember at one point that I wanted to take my life, but God deemed it not to be because He still had a purpose for my life. Now, I am using my words to share my life journey so others can learn from it. Yes, one day I plan to open up this platform to other writers so we can continue to learn from different experiences of life. So, this is a space for anyone seeking to live a life of real freedom and enjoy some good moments along the way…
