My Blog Journey So Far….Writing | Consistency | Freedom

I wanted to share “where my head is at” concerning my journey with this blog so far. First, I am thankful for each person that checks my posts out, because you are the reason why I write. I have found that blogging can connect you to people from all types of background, and it’s been an enjoyable experience to share my writing. Let me share three things that describe my journey on this “blogger’s space” so far!

Writing. I had to realize how much time that I actually do write. I publish weekly posts here on my blog and weekly articles on LinkedIn in addition to making time for personal writing projects. I was putting unnecessary pressure on myself concerning my writing, because I felt that I was not writing “whole books” like I plan to in the beginning. Lately, I had to understand that “I Am A Writer”. I do not need to be working on a book or a certain writing project to claim that title, (although I do work on books in my spare time LOL but y’all understand what I am saying). I am a writer and I have to own that. I write every week. Now, I am planning to take that title of a writer more seriously, and focusing on shaping, improving, and deepening my craft.

Consistency. I am proud that I focused a little more this year on publishing each week. Now I am aiming to post at least five days a week in the form of poetry posts, conversation pieces, and even some engagement posts to hear from y’all. Numbers are good, but consistency builds commitment. I appreciate small numbers because I love the intimacy of it all. Also, I do plan to grow this platform, but also mature my character so I can be prepared for the numbers.

Freedom. As I write, I experience freedom. Yes, I am writing for others, but also including myself in the mix. I am not a perfect human being, but I am sharing my imperfect journey with imperfect people. I enjoy blogging, because I love to express myself. The more I truthfully express myself, the freer I become. We all have something that we are dealing with, and it’s something special about being able to share our hearts, (good, bad, crazy, and funny lol), just to help each other in our life’s journey.

What are my plans for next year? Keep writing. Yes, I do have some ideas of how I want to transform this platform, but the main priority is to WRITE. I honestly believe that the content should be worth more than the actual numbers and platform itself. Content builds community and create connection between the creator and the community. Enjoy the weekend! May post a poem later!

About Me

Hi..My name is ShuCora Walker. No, I am not the woman in the picture, but my words represent people like her. People who love good conversations. People who enjoy sharing their life stories. People who tell the truth to not only inspire but to heal, learn, and grow. I have been writing since my preteen years and found peace in letting my heart bleed out on the paper through my words. The focus of my writing has always been to share stories of triumph, struggles, and faith because God is the reason why I write. I remember at one point that I wanted to take my life, but God deemed it not to be because He still had a purpose for my life. Now, I am using my words to share my life journey so others can learn from it. Yes, one day I plan to open up this platform to other writers so we can continue to learn from different experiences of life. So, this is a space for anyone seeking to live a life of real freedom and enjoy some good moments along the way…
